Golfsail specialise in providing spectacular sail and golf experiences to companies of all sizes across the UK. We are very proud of our association with the Clipper ‘Round the World’ racing team. It enables us to offer unique big boat experiences on boats that have taken part in real around the world races to our clients at great rates.

The Clipper race fleet consists of ten identical 68 foot racing yachts, each sponsored by cities or countries. They had a spectacular send off on the Humber in September, a brief stop in La Rochelle on to Rio de Janiero and then next sailed to Cape Town for the start of the fourth leg. Gusty gale force winds led to drama on the start line in Cape Town: a collision between ‘Cork’ and ‘Hull & Humber’ left both teams needing significant repairs. The rest of the fleet headed east into the Southern Ocean where gale force winds, whale strikes and spinnaker wraps kept the pressure on the non-professional teams. Team ‘Finland’ currently tops the leader board ahead of ‘Spirit of Australia’ and ‘Cork’ in this globally unique yacht race. With speeds of up to 24 knots registered as the fleet surfed east, the crews were in Western Australia in plenty of time for Christmas. Yes! That’s right… After the Clipper fleet returns from their ten month circumnavigation they will be available for corporate and private charters. Events include racing or spectating at events such as Cowes Week, competing in an industry regatta or partaking one of the range of team building, hospitality and learning & development solutions that Golfsail can arrange on your behalf.

The boats are ideal for both novices and experienced sailors alike with guests taught by professional sailors, ensuring they work together to become a cohesive sailing team. As well as the 68 foot fleet that are currently on their way around the globe, we can also arrange events aboard the previous ‘Around The World’ Clipper boats – a fleet of 60 foot yachts which have together raced nearly half a million miles!
